The Egyptian Museum in Cairo located in Downtown Cairo, is the house of the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world. It has over 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display. Located in a building built in 1901, was the largest museum in Africa. Among its masterpieces are Pharaoh Tutankhamun's treasure, including its iconic gold burial mask.

 

  • The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization:-

 

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is a large museum (490,000 square meters (5,300,000 sq ft) ) located in Old Cairo, Egypt. Partially opened in 2017, the museum was officially inaugurated on 3 April 2021 by President of Egypt, with the moving of 22 mummies, including 18 kings and four queens, from the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo, in an event termed the Pharaohs' Golden Parade The museum displays a collection of 50,000 artifacts, presenting the Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.

1-Hanging Church

The Hanging Church is located in the Old Cairo district , In the important Coptic archaeological area in Cairo, it was probably built during the patriarchate of Isaac (690–692).

The Hanging Church was erected over the citadel’s old south Bastions,The Hanging Church has 110 icons, the oldest of which dates back to the 8th century, but most of them date to the 18th century.

 

2- The Babylon Fortress

The Babylon Fortress was a citadel built by the Romans and its origin is disputed by Coptic historians. Some date its origin to the nineteenth century B.C, after Pharaoh Sesostris defeated the Babylonians and took the prisoners of Egypt as slaves.During the Arab conquest of Egypt the Byzantine fortress held out for about seven months before finally falling in December 640 to the Arab general 'Amr ibn al-'As 

 

3-Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church

 Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic Christian churches in Egypt, dating back to the 4th century.

 

4- Ben Ezra Synagogue

It is located in the Fustat area, The current building dates to the 1890s, The Synagogue was originally a church called “The Church of the Shameen. Ben Ezra Synagogue is the oldest Synagogue in Cairo

The Ben Ezra Synagogue functions now as a tourist attraction and museum, rather than as a functioning congregation. - Ben Ezra Synagogue has two floors , The first is used for male worshipers and the second is for women’s prayers. The temple faces Jerusalem, and contains two rows of marble columns with exquisite capitals.

 

5-Amr ibn al-As Mosque

It is one of Cairo's historic mosques. It was established during the reign of Amr ibn al-Aas in Egypt in the city of Fustat, which was founded by Muslims as the first Islamic capital. Construction start date 641 AD
